Hargrave Military Academy guard Mardracus Wade was sure he was coming to the University of Arkansas even before his official visit this weekend.
But his parents are also now fully committed after accompanying him on his official visit to Fayetteville and getting their first look.
"They really enjoyed our visit," Wade said. "They got a chance to walk around campus and check it out, look at the arena, meet with the academic dean and just see what Arkansas is all about.
"They took us out to eat at Doe's and we all really enjoyed that and then they got to see a great football game," Wade added. "They are very excited and think it is a perfect fit for me just like I do."
Wade (6-3, 170), who shined last season for Memphis Mitchell, was one of two official visitors along with Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College combo forward Marvell Waithe (6-9, 215).
"Marvell is a really good guy," Wade said. "We had a great talk and it seems like he is a guy that would really fit in well if he comes up here. We exchanged phone numbers and are going to be calling and texting each other."
Both of those recruits got a taste of what Arkansas fans are like by taking in the Razorbacks' 44-23 win over No. 17 and previously unbeaten Auburn.
"It was crazy," Wade said. "Arkansas has some really wild fans, really true fans, that really support their team and it was just a great game to be apart of. It was great for our football team to get a huge win over Auburn."
Wade also got a chance to hang out with his future teammates.
"I got to hang out with the players and really bonded with them," Wade said. "That's a great group of guys."
