"I think we had a good week," Petrino said. "It required extra (film) study and some extra walk throughs, but both our quarterbacks, Ryan Mallett and Tyler Wilson, are good students and understand it. They did a good job in preparation. Our offensive line has been together all year and they understand communication. I think we will be able to handle it."
Cornerback Ramon Broadway has practiced this week and may play, but he's still not 100 percent with a muscle strain.
"He did change of direction fine today, but we didn't allow him to cut loose on long runs," Petrino said. "He may be able to play. We'll just have to see how he is on Saturday."
Petrino said it's clearly a big game.
"Our players are excited," he said. "They know the importance of this game. They know it's a big game. They've had good energy, good preparation and they have put in a good week of practice. They understand what it means to our program."
Cornerback Andru Stewart, a starter much of the season, still has requirements to fill on Friday, but has done everything right so far in his bid to be reinstated. Stewart practiced this week after sitting out both practice and the Eastern Michigan game due to an academic suspension.

Earlier in the day athletic director Jeff Long conducted a teleconference concerning plans for a new football operations building, complete with new locker rooms. Long said they'd like to redo the Broyles Center, but that first money from private sources would have to be raised, possibly as much as $20 million.
"The sooner the better," Petrino said. "We need it for recruiting. We talked about that before the season, but we haven't talked about it since. It's important. We need a new locker room. Right now, we have a very small locker room, actually two. We split the offense into the varsity room and the defense in the freshman room on game day. We actually took out some lockers in one of the rooms to have more room for game day.
"We also need it for recruiting. It's important. It's something we would like to get started on."
