Ryan Mallett continued his November to remember with five touchdown passes as Arkansas (7-4, 3-4) whips Mississippi State 42-21 in front of 55,624 fans at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium for the Razorbacks' fourth straight win.

Arkansas 42, Mississippi State 21 (2:35 fourth quarter) Broderick Green gets in on the fun with a 1-yard scoring run as the Razorbacks put the game away.

Arkansas 35, Mississippi State 21 (12:35 fourth quarter)

Mallett's fifth touchdown pass of the game was an 11-yard strike to Greg Childs. It is the third time Mallett has thrown five touchdowns in a game this season and the second time in as many weeks.

Arkansas 28, Mississippi State 21 (7:56 third quarter)

And the quick strikes just keep coming. Anthony Dixon's 70-yard touchdown run on the Bulldogs' first play of that possession has pulled MSU back within a score of Arkansas.

Dixon has rushed for 176 yards today. The Bulldogs have rushed for 220 yards as a team, including 164 yards in the first seven minutes of this quarter.

Arkansas 28, Mississippi State 14 (8:14 third quarter)

Arkansas has responded to the Bulldogs' two touchdowns in this game in 1:46 and 1:14.

This time, Mallett found Cobi Hamilton for the second time today on a 64-yard tunnel screen for a score. Hamilton also had a touchdown catch of 58 yards in the second quarter.

Arkansas 21, Mississippi State 14 (9:22 third quarter)

Mississippi State just went 94 yards in 11 plays on the second half's first possession and didn't throw a single pass.

Anthony Dixon's 4-yard touchdown run gave him 106 rushing yards for the game.

Alex Tejada's 52-yard field goal was no good just before halftime for the Razorbacks.

Mallett has 191 passing yards and three touchdowns in the first half. In comparison, Mississippi State has passed for 35 yards. Arkansas has sacked the Bulldogs four times.

Arkansas 21, Mississippi State 7 (4:53 second quarter)

Ryan Mallett's third touchdown pass of the first half has given Arkansas a two score lead. The scoring toss went five yards to Jarius Wright to cap an 11-play, 79-yard drive that spanned five minutes, 27 seconds.

The touchdown pass has now tied Mallett with Stoerner for most touchdown passes in a season with 26. It is the 12th school record he has broken or tied this season.

Arkansas 14, Mississippi State 7 (12:35 second quarter)

Arkansas got back on the scoreboard with a beautiful 58-yard touchdown strike from Mallett to Cobi Hamilton down the right sideline.

The pass put Mallett at 3,012 yards passing this season, the first Razorback to ever pass for more than 3,000 yards in a season. He also tied Clint Stoerner's single-season school record for touchdown responsibility with 27.

Arkansas 7, Mississippi State 7 (11:21 first quarter)

Arkansas responded to that bad first series with a good one. Ryan Mallett went 2-for-3 on the drive for 60 yards, ending in a 39-yard touchdown pass to Joe Adams.

It's Adams' fifth touchdown in four games since returning from a stroke on Oct. 31.

Jarius Wright's 21-yard reception set the Razorbacks up in Bulldog territory one play earlier.

Mississippi State 7, Arkansas 0 (13:07 first quarter)

This was certainly not the start Arkansas wanted to get off.

Ryan Mallett was intercepted on the Razorbacks' second play from scrimmage and Mississippi State took the ball 49 yards in four plays for a score, punctuated by Arnill Stallworth's 1-yard run.

The score was set up by a 49-yard sweep from Chad Bumphis to the Arkansas 3.


Arkansas running back Michael Smith is out for today's game; he is out for the season with a torn hamstring.

There is a very good crowd - looks packed from the press box - in War Memorial Stadium. The skies are overcast and it is 61 degrees in Little Rock. Winds are out of the east at 4 miles per hour.

Arkansas is in its all red uniforms for the fourth consecutive game. Mississippi State is in white tops, white pants and maroon helmets.

Arkansas will receive the opening kickoff. Remember Dennis Johnson took the first kick back for a touchdown in the first game here this season against Missouri State.
