Humphrey to Arkansas

Hoover, Ala., receiver Maudrecus Humphrey (6-2, 185) was one of two receivers to pledge to Arkansas on Sunday.

Maudrecus Humphrey followed his father's footsteps to the SEC on Sunday.

The Hoover, Ala., receiver and son of Alabama all-American running back Bobby Humphrey committed to Arkansas - one of two receivers to pledge to the Razorbacks that afternoon.

"When I went up to Arkansas on my official visit I felt really comfortable with the players and coaches," Humphrey told The Birmingham News. "I got a good vibe. I could see myself playing there. Plus, they have one of the top business schools in the country."

The receiver chose Arkansas over Mississippi State and Kentucky. Humphrey visited the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville last weekend.

"The visit went really good," Humphrey said earlier this week. "It as good to get back up there and see more of what they had to offer.

"We got to experience a lot of what the Arkansas' players get to do on a game day. We got to try on jerseys and have our pictures made and things like that. It was fun."

Humphrey helped lead Hoover to the Class 6A state championship as a senior. He is the 22nd commitment of the 2010 class for the Razorbacks.
