Beck's Outrageous Arkansas Visit

Nowata (Okla.) High offensive lineman Austin Beck (6-8, 300, 5.3) took an unofficial visit to the University of Arkansas on Thursday and found it "outrageous" - in a good way.

Nowata (Okla.) High offensive lineman Austin Beck (6-8, 300, 5.3) got his first chance to see the University of Arkansas on Thursday afternoon and one word popped into his mind.

"Outrageous," Beck said. "Arkansas' facilities are just outrageous. There are not many colleges even close. I was definitely impressed."

Beck also felt very welcomed by the Razorback staff and players on his initial visit to Fayetteville.

"Every single coach took the time to come up and shake my hand and spend time with me," Beck said. "Almost every player, too. They all seem so happy to be there and it seems like a great environment to be a part of at Arkansas."

The first person to meet him upon arrival was new UA offensive line coach Chris Klenakis.

"He was really nice and seems like a good guy who really knows his stuff," Beck said. "He was the first one to actually greet me and we spent a couple of minutes together before getting started. I am really looking forward to getting to know him better my next time at Arkansas."

Beck has offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Tulsa and Baylor and said he is also getting interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State Arizona, Missouri and Nebraska.

He took a visit to Illinois earlier this week, has treks to Nebraska and Missouri planned and has already been on the Tulsa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas State campuses.

"I'm looking to make my decision before the season," Beck said.

Nowata, which is about 2 ½ hours from Fayetteville, went 3-7 last season.

"It was not too great," Beck said. "We were 3-7. But we only lose two starters and we a few games by just a couple of points last season. I think we are going to be pretty good."
