Hogs Prep for Red-White Game

Arkansas didn't waste its 14th practice of spring drills. Head coach Bobby Petrino put the Hogs through a fast-paced workout in Walker Pavilion when light rain hit the Fayetteville area in mid afternoon Friday.

It was billed as a day-before-the-game walk through, but Friday's practice in Walker Pavilion was as fast as any practice ever held the day before the Red-White game. It was the 14th of 15 spring drills for Bobby Petrino's third Arkansas football team and it's clear that this team is on schedule. The practice was fast and sharp.

The teams worked for about 75 mintues in shorts and helmets in a serious practice that covered a lot of aspects of the Red-White game. The squads were mixed for part of the workout, then split into red and white units and practiced against themselves. Safety Ross Rasner was back at practice after missing Wednesday's workout. The Hogs had taken Thursday as an off day.

There was no media availability for players and coaches, but media was allowed to watch the workout. Quarterbacks Tyler Wilson and Brandon Mitchell both had solid workouts for the Red team and were the sharpest of the four signal callers. Cobi Hamilton had an impressive day for the wide receivers. Rudell Crim continues to work at strong (or tight) safety for the White team, his position all of this week. Wade Grayson, out most of the spring with a knee injury, continues to improve and participated in some aspects of the drill.
