High On Hogs

One of the more impressive athletes on hand Saturday for the FCA Combines in North Little Rock was Pine Bluff Dollarway standout Trey Daniels (6-2, 242, 4.59), who is getting looked at by Arkansas and many other schools.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK - Of the 200-plus participants at Saturday's FCA Combines at Verizon Arena, there were very few who looked more like a football player than Trey Daniels.

Daniels (6-2, 242, 4.59) is being looked at by the University of Arkansas at either a big running back or a middle linebacker and certainly looks the part of both.

"They are first looking at me at tailback," Daniels said. "But if that doesn't work out, they really like me as either a middle linebacker, outside linebacker or even a strong safety."

New Arkansas assistant Kris Cinkovich, hired in the offseason by Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino, was in Pine Bluff last week and came by Dollarway High School.

Daniels, who rushed for 1,233 yards this past season, ran a 4.59 hand-held time in the 40-yard dash Saturday at the FCA event.

"They have been telling me how much Coach Petrino likes the big backs and they are feel I could be another Broderick Green. That would work for me."

Daniels is receiving interest from Illinois, Ole Miss Notre Dame, Kansas, Kansas State and Louisiana Tech as well as Arkansas and Arkansas State.

He has taken unofficial visits to Arkansas and Ole Miss.

While Daniels has not received any offers yet, there is no doubt where he wants to play his college football.

He is high on the Hogs.

"I feel that Arkansas would be a good fit for me," Daniels said. "I like everything about them. It is home and I want to be a hometown kid playing at Arkansas."
