Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro tight end Brock Haman made an 18-hour drive to Arkansas last weekend hoping to earn a scholarship offer from Razorback coaches.
Haman was one of more than 300 athletes that participated in Arkansas' Elite Camp on Saturday.
"It's in the SEC and you can't go wrong with that. I like it down here in the South. It's a good program."
As a junior, Haman recorded 23 catches for 399 yards and three touchdowns on offense, and added 51 tackles and two sacks as a linebacker on defense. Though he went through drills with the tight ends Saturday, he is being evaluated on both sides of the ball.
"A lot of teams are looking at me as an H-back or further down the line tight end," Haman said. "It's more H-back right now because of my size and speed.
"I believe I could become a defensive end, but I haven't played it a lot. Last year I had a hip injury that kept me playing more offense."
Haman lists Arkansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and UCLA as his favorites.
