Riles Commits to Arkansas

Alabama prep receiver Jervohnte Riles became the latest to commit to Bobby Petrino's Razorbacks on Tuesday.

Arkansas' football program picked up its 13th commitment from the 2011 class Tuesday from wide receiver Jervohnte Riles of Jess Lanier High School in Bessemer, Ala.

Riles (6-4, 211) chose Arkansas over scholarship offers from South Carolina, Memphis and Southern Miss, and had previously been listed as a soft verbal to Mississippi State, who had also offered.

"I like the coaching staff at Arkansas," Riles said. "I like the offense they run and I really like the team.

"They want me to play as an outside receiver. There are a lot of young receivers on the team the last couple of years. The coaches told me if I come in and learn, and work hard, I could be like that."

Riles was recruited by Razorback linebackers coach Reggie Johnson and could also play linebacker or defensive end on the collegiate level. He is an outside linebacker for his high school team.

"Coach Johnson is a big reason of why I committed," Riles said. "He's a straight-forward guy and loves to keep it real. I can see myself playing for a coach like that."

Riles has yet to visit the Arkansas campus but said he plans to do so on Aug. 21.

He is the third receiver to commit to Arkansas in the rising senior class. East Saint Louis, Ill., receiver Keante Minor and Forrest City receiver Davyon McKinney are the others.
