"I had been waiting for this day to arrive since I committed in July," said McLean. "I stayed committed throughout the process and have no regrets. It's great to make it official and become part of Army's great football tradition. It's exciting to think I'll be there in the next few months.

"Patrick Joseph and I were the first two to make our commitments to Army. We've been keeping in touch and took our official visit [to West Point] the same weekend of January 4th through the 7th. After I signed I spoke to my recruiter, Andy Guyader. He was pumped."

McLean said he had a big ceremony on National Signing Day surround by his family, teammate, and coaches at Broomfield High School in the Denver metropolitan area. He then had an after-party at his house.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end was named All-State(Colorado Class 4A) and All-Mountain League as a senior. McLean has an older brother currently serving in the Army. He will begin USMAPS in June. Top Stories
