My source with knowledge of the Army Football Program is informing me that Jeff Monken will become the 37th head coach of the Black Knights— Seth Harp (@harponsports) December 22, 2013
WSAV channel 3 in Savannah is is also predicting Monken to Army.
Army football beat writer Sal Interdonato of the Times Herald-Record has also predicted Monken to be the Black Knight's head coach in a tweet.
Army fans should be excited about this news. Jeff Monken is a winner. He's won 38 games in four seasons at GSU. He's also a motivator and will inspire the Army players to do great things.
He was a longtime assistant for Paul Johnson at Georgia Southern, Navy and Georgia Tech so he knows the triple option inside out and knows how to coach successful football teams at service academies.
He's been an active recruiter in the football hotbed state Georgia that loves the military. He'll bring better talent to West Point.
As mentioned earlier, Monken also has experience coaching at a service academy.
My hunch is that a press conference will be called on Monday and Army fans will get their early Christmas present.
