Tony Brown withdraws Army verbal

Quarterback Tony Brown of Jarrell high school has informed of the withdrawal of his verbal commit to Army.

"Just a heads up." said Tony Brown. "I withdrew my verbal from Army today."

As a junior during the 2014 season Brown earned third team all-state honors. On defense had six interceptions and 48 tackles. As a QB he rushed for 1,541 yards on 140 carries and scored 16 touchdowns. Completed 58 of 114 passes for 973 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Brown also returned 9 punts for 229 yards, averaging 25.6 yards per return, 3 for TDs. He played in eight full games before being injured just five plays into the ninth contest. He's reportedly fully recovered from that injury.

In addition to Army, Brown also has offers from Air Force, Navy, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Rice, Nevada and Tulsa.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. National Signing Day is in February 2016. Top Stories
