Scout.com Academy Players of the Week

Army, Navy and Air Force were all in action this week with Navy and Air Force winning while Army lost again. Here are your Scout.com Academy Players of the Week along with other notable performers.

ARMY 

QB CHRIS CARTER

FRESHMAN

Army plebe quarterback Chris Carter, in his first start, played well in his debut despite two fumbles. Carter ran 20 times for 111 yards and scored a touchdown. He distributed the ball well and showed his speed on a 45-yard run that set up his touchdown. 

NAVY

DE WILL ANTHONY

SENIOR

Up front defensive end Will Anthony was in full beast mode as he led the Mids with 8 tackles, three sacks, four tackles for a loss and a forced fumble that ended up in end zone for a safety. Navy head coach Ken  Niumatalolo said it best in the post game. "Will Anthony is the best defensive lineman we have ever had."

AIR FORCE

QB KARSON ROBERTS

SENIOR

Air Force quarterback Karson Roberts threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns. Roberts also rushed for 66 yards while leading the Falcons to a 37-30 win over Boise State on Friday night.

OTHER NOTABLE ACADEMY PERFORMERS

ARMY

WR Edgar Poe had two receptions for 95 yards including one for a 65-yard touchdown. 

DE John Voit had eight tackles and including one for a loss.  He also had a quarterback hurry.  

NAVY

CB Brandon Clements had four tackles, a tackle for loss and forced a fumble. 

QB Keenan Reynolds ran for 81 yards and a touchdown and threw for another score. Reynolds became Navy's all-time leading rusher with 4,195 yards breaking Napoleon McCallum's record. 

AIR FORCE 

Kicker Luke Strebel connected on three of three field goals for the Falcons, including a long boot of 45 yards.  

DB Roland Ladipo had nine tackles and broke up four passes.
