Virginia DB Tyren Cloyd picks Army

Army West Point picked up another commit on Sunday when Benedictine high school defensive back Tyren Cloyd announced he would be a Black Knight.

In one of the most eloquent twitter commit announcements ever made, Tyren Cloyd  revealed to the world that he would attend the United States Military Academy at West Point and play football.

I've anticipated playing college football since I was a little kid watching games all Saturday long. Through the blessings of God, love from my family, and grooming of my coaches and teammates my dream has finally come true.  I am honored to enter a new chapter of my life at Army West Point.  Here I will obtain a top education and play great American football.  Thank you to everyone who has helped me in this gracious process.

Cloyd, a 6-foot-2, 185 pound defensive back, also had offers from Air Force, Bryant and Lehigh. He's could play either cornerback or safety but will most likely be a safety at Army.   Cloyd also competes in track, in the 100 meter, 200 meter, long jump and triple jump.

Overall, this looks like another promising commit by Jeff Monken and his staff. Top Stories
