Army Scoreless Again; 27-0

It was a sunny day in Fort Worth but for the Army Black Knights it seemed as if a black cloud hovered over their offense for the second straight week. The Cadets faced the #20 TCU Horned Frogs in a C-USA contest and were shutout 27-0. Army dropped to 0-5.

Army's defense played great in the first half holding TCU to just two field goals. A 26-yard field goal late in the first quarter by Nick Browne put TCU up 3-0.

A failed Army fourth-down conversion enabled Browne to kick the second field goal, this time from 30 yards.

Early in the third quarter a 40-yard touchdown pass to Bruce Galbert extended the Horned Frogs lead to 13-0.

Later on in the quarter a 35-yard fumble return by Tyrone Sanders put TCU up 20-0.

A 37-yard run by Kenny Hayter put the Horned Frogs in position for a 15-yard touchdown reception by Cory Rodgers and helped to increase the Horned Frog lead to 27-0. Hayter would finish with 88 yards rushing on 12 carries.

Army's offense struggled yet again in this one. Running back Carlton Jones rushed for just 52 yards on 21 carries to lead Army in rushing. Quarterback Zac Dahman completed 14 of 30 passes for 176 yards and 1 interception. The Black Knights and their fans hope they can get things on track Saturday when they face Louisville.

TCU improves to 5-0. They travel to South Florida in a nationally televised game on October 10, on ESPN2. Top Stories
