UAB Handles Army, 24-9

The UAB Blazers rambled out to a 17-0 lead and then held on to hand Army its ninth straight loss of the season, 24-9, in a game played in Birmingham, Ala.

The Blazers struck first when Chris Williams threw a 91-yard touchdown pass to Nick Coon to put UAB up by 7.

Army's special teams struggled when a blocked punt was recovered by Dominique Cosper in the end zone for another Blazer touchdown to increase the UAB lead to 14-0.

Early in the third quarter UAB scored again on a 50-yard field goal by Nick Hayes.

Army's offense finally got going early in the fourth quarter when Anthony Zurisko kicked a 36-yard field goal to put the Black Knights on the board. Army now trailed 17-3.

The Blazers answered back quickly when Chris Williams scored on a 19-yard touchdown run.

Army's final score came on a 27-yard pass from Zac Dahman to Walter Hill. Dahman would finish with 238 yards passing completing 34 of 51 passes.

Army's record dips to 0-9. The Black Knights travel to Air Force Academy (6-3) next who recently lost a tough conference game to Utah.

UAB's record improves to 4-5. They host a struggling Tulane (3-6), who have lost their last five. Top Stories
