Turnovers, Falcons Doom Black Knights, 31-3

The Air Force Falcons took advantage of numerous Army turnovers to hand the Army Black Knights their tenth loss of the season today. The Falcons accumulated over 400 yards total offense while holding Army to just 199 yards of offense.

After holding Army to three and out, Air Force marched down where Joey Ashcroft kicked a 31-yard field goal to put the Falcons on top 3-0.

A fumble by Zac Dahman put Air Force in position to kick a 24-yard field goal. The Falcons had built a 6-0 lead.

The Army turnovers didn't stop when Recardo Evans fumbled two Army drives later. This time Air Force capitalized with a 1-yard touchdown run by Steve Massie that extended the Air Force lead to 13-0.

In the second quarter Zac Dahman was intercepted by Larry Duncan. Kicker Joey Ashcroft struck again, this time kicking a 59-yard field goal to put the Falcons up 16-0 at the half.

Army marched down the field in a 17-play drive and was finally able to get some points on the board kicking when Anthony Zurisko booted a 22-yard field to make the score16-3.

Air Force answered back six minutes later with a 5-yard touchdown run by Darnell Stephens followed by a two-point conversion run by Anthony Butler to build the Air Force lead to 24-3.

After Air Force's score, William White fumbled the ensuing kickoff which was recovered by the Falcons's Jeff Overstreet on the 3-yard line. Air Force scored when Matt Ward pounced on a loose ball in the end zone giving the Falcons a 31-3 lead.

Army's offense turned the ball over for the sixth time in the fourth quarter when Dahman threw another interception. The Cadets lost a total of 4 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Army hosts Houston next Saturday at Michie Stadium. Air Force improves to 7-3 and travels to New Mexico next Saturday.
