Prospect Interview - Joe McDaniel

Joe is a talented all purpose running back from Pittsburgh (PA.). The soft-spoken running back, receives equal pleasure in putting a crunching block on a defender or breaking off a long run if it adds value to the team. McDaniel's solid size and quality speed, is an ideal fit for a multiple scheme offensive.

1. What has been the best part of the recruiting process?

Getting the opportunity to visit and see the various schools.

2. What other schools were you hearing from and did you have any other offers?

I will start with those that have offered so far. Army, Navy, Richmond, Eastern Michigan & Bowling Green. I'm also hearing from Louisville, UConn, Northwestern & Akron

3. Have you scheduled an official visit for West Point?

No, I haven't scheduled an official visit yet.

4. What are you thoughts about Coach Bobby Ross being name Head Coach of the Black Knights of Army?

He's a great coach. As a running back, it's exciting, to think that he coached Barry Sanders.

5. What were your goals coming into your senior year of high school football?

Play hard and as a team, go as far as we can. We finished at 7-4.

6. Describe your style as a running back?

I'm an all-purpose back.

7. What part of your game do you feel is strongest?

Blocking. Not many running backs like to do that.

8. What running back in college or the pros do you emulate?

I really admire and like the play of Clinton Portis (Broncos) & Priest Holmes (Chiefs).

9. What is your actual size and speed in the 40?

5'11" 207. My 40 time is 4.5.

10. What position are you being recruited at, fullback or running back?

Running back.
