Tennessee star picks Army

ArmySports.com has learned that a highly regarded linebacker/ fullback from the state of Tennessee has committed to play football for the United States Military Academy.

Ian Van Horne (6-3, 220), from Brentwood, Tenn. (Brentwood) has committed to play football for Bobby Ross and West Point.

As a linebacker Van Horen had an astonishing 114 tackles, 49 of them solo tackles. The talented player had 2 sacks and 11 tackles for losses along with 2 interceptions.

On offense, Van Horne rushed for over 300 yards and 8 touchdowns as a fullback.

Post season honors for Van Horn include being nominated for "Mr. Football" in Class 5-A; 2nd Team AP-All State Team; Region 6-5-A Most Valuable Defensive Player; Defensive Player of the Year in Williamson County, All-Midstate First Team, TSWA Class 5-A All-State First Team.

NOTE: The USMA does not release signee lists. Some players may attend the USMA Prep school prior to attending the USMA.
