LSU Tops Army, 9-0

BATON ROUGE, La.- LSU's Justin Meir allowed Army just seven hits in nine innings and led the Bayou Bengals to a 9-0 win over the Black Knights in first round NCAA Baseball action.

Cadet Ace pitcher Nick Hill gave up 11 hits to take the loss.

Army dropped to 37-13 with the loss while LSU, from the SEC, improved to 42-17.

The Cadets are still alive in the tourney. The tournament is double elimination and Army will face the loser of the College of Charleston and Southern Mississippi game at 11:00 AM CST Saturday morning.

The Black Knights fought valiantly despite the shutout. Army loaded the bases in the fourth inning but left the runners stranded. Third baseman Jeremy Stache had a good day for Army garnering three hits in four at bats.
