Army-VMI on ESPN Classic

LEXINGTON, Va. – ESPN, Inc., and the Army Athletic Association have announced that the VMI-Army football game Oct. 7 at West Point, N.Y. will begin at 1:00 p.m. with kickoff slated at 1:05 p.m.

The game will be televised on ESPN Classic.

It will mark VMI football's first national cable broadcast since VMI played The Citadel on the Prime Network in 1994 in a game played in Norfolk, Va. The Keydets also appeared on national TV in 1983 when they hosted The Citadel in a night game in Lexington.

The VMI-Army football game will feature Black Knights head coach Bobby Ross, a 1959 graduate of VMI, facing his alma mater.

Army currently has a five-year multi-media agreement with ESPN that was inked in 2005. The pact calls for Army's home games and select neutral site games in which Army is the home team to be televised by either ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, or ESPN U.
