The Experience Factor: Army Offense 2007

Solid experience is vital to any team's success. Today we take a look at the experience and overall strength of the Black Knight's projected 2007 starting offensive positions and assigns a rating to each position.

0=weakest 10=strongest
TE Justin Larson- No starts in 2006. Will gain experience in 2007.
LT Ray Zelenak- Started first seven games of season. Had a good spring and should be solid in 2007.
LG Brandon Cox- Had two starts at left tackle. Like Cox, had a great spring.
C Trey Miranne- Started five games at center. In May was named to the prestigous Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List.
RG Connor Wicklund- Started opening game against Arkansas State at left guard when he was forced into action after questions concerning the eligibility of two Army starters.
Mike Lemming- Started TCU and Tulane games at left tackle.
OR Set Fabin- No starts in 2006.
This position is a big question mark for the Army staff.
David Pevoto- Started first eight games. Has closed the gap with Carson Williams according to HC Stan Brock
OR Carson Williams- Started Tulane, Air Force, Notre Dame and Navy games. Williams is running neck and neck with upperclassman David Pevoto.
Both Pevoto and Williams have solid talent but were turnover prone in 2006. A new offensive scheme could help fix that problem.
FB Mike Viti- Started all 12 games. Elected team captain in the spring.
RB Wesley McMahand- Started eight games. Injured much of the spring but is expected to lead the running backs in 2007. Tony Moore could also see lots of carries too.
WR Damion Hunter- No starts in 2006. Showed great improvement in the spring but will need to build up his experience.
WR Jeremy Trimble- Started all 12 games. Elected team captain in the spring.
