Army could get Texas QB

Army has already picked up three stellar quarterback commits. A fourth could be on the way in Spencer Otto of Pflugerville, Texas (Hendrickson HS). Otto visited Army on Friday night and liked what he saw. Read inside as talks with Otto about his visit to West Point.

Spencer Otto Profile

How did the visit to Army go?

"We got there Friday night and met at Dave and Busters, we had dinner there. We went to the hotel and got our own rooms. Saturday they showed us around the campus, the facilities, talked about academics. We woke up Sunday morning and ate a big breakfast and I came home."

Who were your hosts?

"Mark Allen, David Galbreath and Kevin Dunn were my hosts. They talked about probably coming in directly into the academy; they would talk to the administrators about what is best for us. Max Jenkins committed to them on the visit, the coaches said we will have a chance to start as sophomores."

Will you commit to Army?

"I am waiting to hear from Purdue first, after I hear from them, if it is no from them then I will commit to Army. If Purdue comes through I will visit the campus and make my decision."

What are you looking for when you visit a school?

"I am looking to see what there is to do around campus, what type of coaches they have. That is big with me; they will be my guidance for four years. I want to make sure that is good and how I bond with other players and to see how I feel with the atmosphere."

What do your parents think about Army?

"My dad said if it was his decision he would commit. I want to get this over before the New Year's over, this has been stressful, I want to make my decision and get it over with."

What are some of the things Army and Purdue like about you?

"Purdue saw me, it was my sophomore year they came in to look at a junior back and I caught their eye. Army liked my size when they saw me." Top Stories
