Will Campbell and his Screven County team are gearing up for their toughest match up of the season as they will lock horns with LaGrange in what many consider the 3A State Championship Game. Campbell has great quickness with sub 4.5 ability in the forty, and he will be matched up with Adrian Griffin on offense and defense who is a clone of him physically.
While Campbell doesn't have the offer sheet that Griffin does, his ability is nearly equal. At 5-9 and 175 pounds, Campbell turned in a good 4.53 forty time at the Nike Camp in Athens last April to go along with a 35 inch vertical leap. The versatile athlete does not have any offers yet, but he would make a fine addition in the secondary of many schools.
"I haven't been playing much corner this year," said Campbell. "I'll be playing full time on defense this week though. I'll be matched up on Emmanual Harrell for the most part. I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm going to try and set up my visits after the season. Bowling Green, Navy, and Army want me to visit, and I'd like to set up visits with Auburn and Duke if I can."
For those that wonder if Campbell can get it done on the next level, he will have his chance to prove himself this weekend against Harrell and Griffin, two of the top skill players in the state.
