Collin Mooney is one of the top fullbacks in the nation, averaging over 110 yards per game, however, he is very fumble prone. Quarterback Chip Bowden is also a player who can pile up yardage. Navy's Ross Pospisil leads an effective Mids run defense which sees the option everyday in practice.

Army passing offense

Navy passing defense

The Black Knights just don't pass much and are dead last in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). However, if Carson Williams sees action at QB look for the game to change quickly. The Mids have seen a big improvement in the pass defense this season. They are 88th nationally in passing defense after finishing 2007 ranked near the bottom of the FBS.

Navy's rushing offense has reclaimed the nation's top spot in yardage gained per game. Shun White, Eric Kettani and all the others help the Mids pile up almost 300 yards per game on the ground. Army has a decent rushing defense and performed well against Navy last year.

Navy passing offense
vs.
Army passing defense

Only one team in the nation gets less passing yardage than Navy: Army. However, the Cadets have a better passing defense than Navy.

Special Teams
X
Both teams have solid field goal kickers. Navy's Matt Harmon has connected on 15 of 17 field goals this year. Army's Matthew Campbell has made 12 of 15 attempts. Navy has clearly superior punt return, kickoff return and punting games.

Coaching
X
Army's Stan Brock is 6-17 in his second year at west Point. Navy's Ken Niumatalolo is 7-5 and has Navy headed to another both game.

Prediction:
Army 13
Navy 27
