Arizona star likes Academies

LB/DE Brian Renfree from Notre Dame Prep in Phoenix, Arizona helped lead his team to a dominant, 11-0, record in 2008 and back-to-back state titles. Now as the recruiting season heats up Renfree is considering camping at a couple of service academies. Look inside to find out which military teams will get a look at this up-and-coming player.

"I played defensive end last year. I started at end but moved to linebacker. I will play linebacker this year," said Renfree. Renfree was also used in blocking situations on offense as a tight end.

Renfree finished his junior campaign with 41 tackles, a sack and 5 tackles for losses.

Renfree, who has been busy over the past two weeks participating in spring drills with his Notre Dame teammates, is hearing from a number of schools including several Ivy League schools and the service academies.

One school Renfree say he wants to find out more about is Air Force. Renfree says he has friends who went there. "I talked to them [The coaches] this week. I'm probably going to camp there this summer.

Navy is another school that has been in contact with Renfree, "I think I'm going to go to one of their camps," said the Arizona junior.

Army is a team Renfree said he wants to hear more from. He did get a questionaire from the Army staff but has yet to hear from them otherwise. " I'm pretty interested in all the academies."

In addition to the service academies, Renfree says he is hearing from Colorado State, Colorado School of Mines, Brown and Penn. He says that Brown and Penn are recruiting him the hardest. However, he is keeping his options wide open. He did not name a favorite school.
