Army baseball headed to Austin Regional

WEST POINT-- The Army baseball team learned today that they will travel to Austin, Texas to face a powerful Texas Longhorn team. The Cadets were assigned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA's Austin Regional.

The Army-Texas winner will face the winner of No. 3 seeded Boston College versus No. 2 seeded Texas State. Texas finished the season 41-13 and is ranked No. 5 nationally in the latest Baseball America poll. Texas St. (41-15) and Boston College (33-24) are not ranked.

Army has never met Texas or Texas State in baseball. The Black Knights have played Boston College five times, however, their last meeting was in 1924.
