Lehigh 78 Army 61

Army hung close to the first place Mountain Hawks until midway through the first half. Army weathered a quick start by Lehigh to pull within three midway through the first period and then Lehigh went on a run that effectively put the game away. Lehigh had an unanswered scoring spurt of 14 points in building a 16 point lead at halftime, 39-23.

The second half would get no better for the Black Knights as Lehigh added to its halftime advantage and was up by 28 pts with around 11:00 minutes to play. Army, as usual, showed no quit and whittled away at the Hawks lead finally getting it down to eleven with a chance to cut it to eight, but Andy Smith's three went in and out and Lehigh brought in its first string to salt the game away. Andrew Pawling played an excellent game with 16 points on 5-10 shooting in only 20 minutes of court time.

Army was once again done in by atrocious shooting and long scoring droughts. This team shows heart and hustle in never quitting but it is too talent challenged offensively to overcome mental breakdowns on offense. Coach Crews was very disappointed in the team's execution of the offense and said the team needed to get more detail oriented and pick up its intensity level. He also said they need to transfer their practice work ethic to the games.
