Chase McCoy Interview

Tulsa, OK (Union HS) star tight end Chase McCoy talked with ArmySports.com about why he chose West Point and the Army coaching staffs plans for him.

ArmySports.com: Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for ArmySports.com. What were some of the programs that were recruiting you?
Chase McCoy: New Mexico State, SMU, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, University of North Texas.

ArmySports.com: What programs had offered you a scholarship?
Chase McCoy: Army and New Mexico State

ArmySports.com: What are some of the reasons you chose Army?
Chase McCoy: Ever since I was very small I have always wanted to be in the Army. It was just a dream of mine and I felt that I could make it come true.

ArmySports.com: What coach recruited you for Army?
Chase McCoy: Coach Garber

ArmySports.com: What are some of the things the Army staff told you regarding your future role on the team?
Chase McCoy: I have been told that I will play tight end, but there are possibilities that I could play on the offensive line.

ArmySports.com: Please describe for us your greatest day as a football player while playing at the high school level.
Chase McCoy: When our senior class this year won the school's first ever state championship in class 6A.

ArmySports.com: How do you feel about playing in the annual Army-Navy football game?
Chase McCoy: I feel that it will be an awesome experience, something that I have never felt before.

ArmySports.com: Will you play next season at the Academy or will you attend the prep school?
Chase McCoy: I will play next season at the Academy.
