Barrett Scruggs Interview

We caught up with Barrett and chatted with him about his decision to join the Black Knights of Army. Barrett comes from talent rich Florida. He was part of an outstanding defense at Plant H.S. (Tampa, FL) who in their rival game against Jefferson did a great job in locking down the #1 ranked WR Andre Caldwell whose brother is Reche Caldwell of the San Diego Chargers. How long did you know you wanted to play at Army before you announced?
Barrett Scruggs:  I wasn't 100% about Army.  However, when I did my official visit, met the coaches and players I knew this is where I wanted to play and attend school.  What is your 40 time like?
Barrett:  My forty time is 4.6.  What are you going to do between now and when your college career starts to prepare yourself for college football?
Barrett:  I am currently playing basketball, and will run track in the spring.  I will also be lifting.  How would you describe yourself as a football player?
Barrett:  Intense (then Barrett laughs)  Your high school coach (Darlee Nelson) said that you have the ability to play linebacker or strong safety. What position are you being recruited at?
Barrett:  Linebacker.  What linebacker in the NFL or College that you pattern yourself after?
Barrett:  Without question, Derrick Brooks of the Tampa Bay Bucs.  Have you followed the recruiting of other players to Army?
Barrett:  Not a lot.  Although I heard that WR Corey Anderson (also from the Tampa area) committed to Army. on your decision to attend West Point and join the Black Knights
Barrett:  Thank you very much, Sir. Top Stories
