Meet Dylan Cox

The Army coaching staff has been expressing interest in this a 6-3, 195 pound wide receiver prospect out of Cedar Park High School. Come inside with ArmySports.com to learn more about the talented receiver from out of the Lone State.

SM: Dylan, how did your junior season with Cedar Park High go last fall?

DC: It went well. We won District. We worked real hard and came away with the District Title. It's been a while since we've won District, so it was good for the seniors.

SM: What were your stats on last season?

DC: I think I had 16 catches for 300 yards. Our offense is mainly a run-based offense. We are developing more of a passing offense this year. So hopefully my numbers will be a little bit higher my senior year.

SM: Talk a little bit about your best game on last season.

DC: My best game last season was against Round Rock. I had three catches in that game. And all of them were for touchdowns.

SM: Tell me a little bit about your strengths on the field as an athlete.

DC: I can jump high. I have great hands, and I can run routes very well.

SM: What areas would you like to improve in?

DC: I'd like to improve on my speed and strength.

SM: Switching gears to the recruiting front... Who are some of the schools that have been expressing interest in you as a prospect?

DC: I've been getting letters from Rice, Tulsa, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Army. Those are probably the main ones.

SM: How long have you been hearing from Army?

DC: Actually I just started receiving mail from them. I've just been receiving general letters from them basically stating that they know who I am, and that they are very interested in me as a prospect. It's just the beginning stages.

SM: Is Army a program that you'd like to learn more about?

DC: Oh yes… I think I'd like to learn more about them.

SM: How are you looking academically?

DC: I'm looking pretty good. I have a 4.52 GPA on a 5.0 scale. I just took the SAT, but I haven't gotten my scores back yet. And I haven't taken the ACT yet.

SM: What do you plan to study in college?

DC: I plan to study Kinesiology, or something related…
