Holy Cross 19, Army 1- This was the first of two Saturday games. Yes, who would have ever thought that the Black Knights would drop their Patriot League opener by 18 runs? Ben Koenigsfeld had a nightmare game, allowing 13 runs, 9 hits, 2 walks and hitting 2 batters in just 2 innings of work. Meanwhile, Army batters managed only 4 hits in this 7 inning contest.

Army 9, Holy Cross 7- In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, this one lasting 9 innings, Army jumped out to a 9-3 lead and then held on to defeat the Crusaders, 9-7. Kirk Porter pitched 2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks and 3 runs. Lee Logan, Chris Simpkins and Kevin McKague combined to allow 9 hits and 4 earned runs in the remaining innings. Army got 2 hits each from McKague, Ben Koenigsfeld, J.T. Watkins and Cody Murtle.

Army 6, Holy Cross 0- The Black Knights' Matt Fouch shut out Holy Cross in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. Fouch scattered 6 hits over 7 innings while walking just 2. Army short stop Clint Moore had a 2-run homer while Kevin McKague added a double in a winning effort.

Army 10, Holy Cross 4- The Black Knight roared out to a 6-0 second inning lead and then added 4 insurance runs in the ninth to complete a Sunday doubleheader sweep and series win over the Crusaders. Steve Cummings allowed 9 hits in 7 innings of work and walked none to pick up the victory for Army. Army 1-4 hitters each had a pair of hits for the Black Knights. The win improved Army's record to 12-9 (3-1 Patriot). After the lopsided win on Saturday, the Crusaders would see their record dwindle to 10-11 (1-3 Patriot).
