Recruiting Update: Vince Hunter

Detroit Consortium (Mich.) junior wing Vincent Hunter is currently receiving some big time interest but recently he has minimize his list to two Atlantic 10 schools. Hunter spoke with to find out what exactly appeals to him about these two schools in particular.

Detroit Consortium (Mich.) 6-foot-7, 185-pound junior wing Vincent Hunter is considered to be one of the top versatile players in the state of Michigan.

Hunter's versatility has earned him multiple offers from teams like Xavier, Cleveland State, Indiana and Central Michigan. Hunter has also earned big time college interest from schools like Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri State, Oakland and Dayton.

Although he has a great amount of offers and college interest, Hunter recently said that out of all his offers Xavier is number one in his mind.

"Xavier is just great in every way." Hunter said. "I love the coaching staff; they make me feel like part of their family. I love the fact that they are always contenders in the A-10 and the NCAA Tournament. I love their style of play and I feel I would fit well in their system."

However, Hunter did say there is another team in the A-10 that is also on his mind, that team is Dayton.

"Dayton is an upcoming team in my recruitment." Hunter replied. "Dayton has been talking to me more lately and has showed more interest in me. I have yet to really see them play but the coaching staff has really appealed to me."

Hunter has yet to visit either campuses and is eager to get the visits underway.

"I hope to visit both campuses this summer." Hunter said. "I honestly feel like once I visit both campuses I will be able to make my decision. I honestly believe once I see Xavier's campus there is a chance I will commit on the spot or soon after. However if I receive an offer from Dayton on my visit I probably will wait before making my decision."

One thing both these schools have in common is they are both in the state of Ohio which seems to appeal to Hunter.

"I love Ohio." Hunter replied. "I have visited Ohio many times for AAU tournaments, games and etc. I love the fact that it isn't too far from home and I just love the people and the state as a whole."
