Soko Headed to Duquesne

Duquesne landed another commit this spring with UAB transfer Ovie Soko.

Six-foot-eight forward Ovie Soko announced his intention to transfer from UAB once Jerod Haase came on board as the new head coach. Although Haase didn't directly have a part in the decision, as Soko was transferring either way, the timing creating those thoughts.

Now, he has committed to A-10's Duquesne, as first reported by the Daily Press.

Soko played in 88 games for the Blazers, averaging 6.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest. He will have one year of eligibility remaining after sitting out this upcoming year, per NCAA rules.

He is yet another addition to new Dukes head coach Jim Ferry's rebuilding project in Pittsburgh.

Soko, a London, England native, is currently on a 21-man roster for the 2012 Olympics.
