"It was intense," Rose said. "It was like one of those moments where you wish you were in the game so you could help out. I liked when they pulled it out. In those close games you get to see what a team is really about. I'm glad Auburn pulled it out."
Spending time with the players and coaches on his visit, the talented cornerback prospect wanted to get a feel for life outside of football. He said having the entire weekend to do that following his team's win Friday night was just the ticket.
"The visit went well," Rose said. "I got to chill with some of the players. I had a good time. They showed me around campus. I had a chance to get better acquainted with the coaches and some of the players.
"It was just the environment," Rose added about what he liked on the weekend. "I got to tour more than I did when I was on my unofficial visits. I got to talk with the coaches more. We talked about football and how a player goes through everyday life. I like it."
One of the positions of need for the Auburn Tigers in the 2011 class is without question in the secondary. With senior Demond Washington and junior Neiko Thorpe the two starters at cornerback with only two players behind them at the moment, Rose said the opportunity to play early is one thing he's pointing to for next season already. Throw in Auburn's struggles in the secondary at times and you have the perfect recipe.
"It's kind of my motivation," Rose said. "When I see them kind of struggling and then come out on top it's my motivation to come in and work hard so I can get in the rotation and help the team."
Another of the positions of need is at running back. Talented prospect Dee Hart had already visited Michigan before traveling to Auburn over the weekend to check out his other favorite. Rose said he got the opportunity to talk and hang out with Hart and tried to convince him Auburn was the place for him as well.
"I tried to get Dee to come down," Rose said. "He enjoyed his visit. Hopefully he'll be coming to a conclusion and it may not be till signing day but I think it's going to be Auburn. Hopefully the talks we had influence him to come."
Busy with his football season as Leeds is currently ranked first in Class 3A, Rose is also planning to take several more visits just to check out some other schools. While he'll be traveling around some he said he's still solid to the Tigers but wants to see some other places while he has the chance.
"I'm kind of going to visit some places I haven't seen before," Rose said. "I'm going to visit LSU, USC, Florida State, Florida and Alabama. I just want to check them out. I haven't been on an official to them."
