Lineman Leaves Auburn Football Team

Junior college transfer Roszell Gayden is leaving the Auburn football team.

Auburn, Ala.--Roszell Gayden, who was a candidate to win the vacant starting right tackle spot for the Auburn football team this season, is expected to transfer following the fall semester.

The six-foot-five, 291-pound junior transferred to Auburn in January from College of Sequioas in Visalia, Calif., choosing the Tigers over Cal, Oklahoma and others. However, he suffered a knee injury and has not played this season and was being redshirted.

Gayden is shown at a preseason practice in August.

Auburn officials say that Gayden will remain in school for the rest of the semester, but is no longer a part of the football team.

Prior to attending junior college in California, Gayden was an All-State football player at Robbinsdale Cooper High in New Hope, Minn.

Auburn's other juco transfer offensive line prospect, Brandon Mosley, is the starting right tackle for the Tigers.
