Pat's Picks: Coach Dye's Football Predictions

Former Auburn head football coach and Hall of Famer Pat Dye picks this week's football winners.

Editor's Note: Coach Pat Dye was 6-0 with his SEC predictions in week eight to improve to 85-22 in league games. He was 9-3 on his non-conference predictions. Overall going into week nine he is 111-36.

Georgia vs. Florida at Jacksonville, Fla.--I see Georgia winning this one because the Bulldogs are just playing better than the Gators are. The talent on both sides should be close, but I?think Georgia is over the hump and is not making the mistakes that cost them earlier in the season.

Tennessee at South Carolina--The Vols don't have enough firepower. South Carolina wins this one in Columbia where the Gamecocks are hard to beat.

Kentucky at Mississippi State--This could be a close game. Even though I have a lot of respect for Kentucky and the job Joker Phillips is doing, I see Mississippi State winning at home.

Vanderbilt at Arkansas--I can see Vandy winning at Arkansas so the Razorbacks will win this one.

Auburn at Ole Miss--This could be one of the hardest games for Auburn to win this year because I expect Ole Miss to pull out all of the stops. Houston Nutt has a history of winning games like this, but I like Auburn to win again this week.

In other games around the country:

Michigan State at Iowa--I am going to take Michigan State to win and stay undefeated.

Oklahoma State at Kansas State-Oklahoma.

Miami (Fla.) at Virginia--Miami.

Clemson at Boston College--Clemson.

Kansas at Iowa State--Iowa State.

Tulsa at Notre Dame--Notre Dame.

Texas Tech at Texas A&M--Texas A&M.

Arizona at UCLA--Arizona.

Oregon at Southern Cal--Oregon.

Stanford at Washington--Stanford.

Baylor at Texas--Texas.

Michigan at Penn State--Michigan.

Utah at Air Force--Utah.

Missouri at Nebraska--Nebraska.
