Taking a look at this week's SEC games:
UTEP at Arkansas--UTEP is 6-4, but Arkansas shouldn't have any problem with this game.
Mississippi State at Alabama--I think this game will be extremely close for two reasons. I don't think there is any question that Alabama has more players, more talent and more depth, but you never know how an emotional issue like Mississippi State is going through (the death of one of its players) is going to effect a team. I can tell you right now it has taken a lot of energy dealing with that, but sometimes emotion and adrenalin came overcome that. It is also going to take Alabama some time to get over its LSU game, but the advantage Alabama has got is playing in Tuscaloosa.
Ole Miss at Tennessee--I think Ole Miss will win on the road. This has been a tough season for the Vols.
South Carolina at Florida--I think Florida is going to win because the Gators are extremely good on defense with tremendous speed. Chris Rainey coming back has given the offense a boost. Playing the two quarterbacks like they are now, Florida's offense seems to be more efficient than it was earlier in the season.
Playing this game in Gainesville is a big plus for the Gators. If South Carolina wins it will be Spurrier magic and he is certainly capable of doing it.
Louisiana-Monroe at LSU--LSU should improve to 9-1 this week.
Running back Michael Dyer can break Bo Jackson's freshman rushing yardage record this week.
If you look at the SEC statistics, the place where Auburn is dominant over Georgia is offensively. The one advantage that Georgia will have is a great kicking game with both kickers and the kickoff return guy. The Tigers will need to match them in special teams and do what they have been doing all season and they will win."
In other games around the country:
Miami at Georgia Tech--This is a good matchup. I think both will play backup quarterbacks and it is tough to make a pick because of that. It is a flip of the coin, but I will pick Miami because Miami's backup quarterback beat Maryland last week and Georgia Tech's backup quarterback lost to Virginia Tech.
Kansas State coach Bill Snyder
Oregon at Cal--Oregon wins.
Indiana at Wisconsin--Wisconsin.
Iowa at Northwestern--Iowa.
Virginia Tech at North Carolina--North Carolina.
