Auburn Remains #2 In BCS Standings

Auburn, Ala.--Despite moving up in both polls that are used in the BCS rankings, the Auburn Tigers (11-0) remain second in the Bowl Championship Series standings following a 49-31 win over Georgia on Saturday.

Behind Oregon and Auburn, TCU remains third while Boise State climbed closer to the Horned Frogs with two weeks left in the regular season.

Currently at .9753, Oregon holds a very slim advantage over Auburn (.9687) with both of them holding a big gap over the third and fourth place teams. TCU (.8966) lost almost half of its lead over Boise State (.8634) with LSU closing in at fifth with a total of .8243. Stanford, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Ohio State and Oklahoma State round out the top 10.

In the coaches poll released on Sunday it was again Oregon at the top with 46 first-place votes and 1457 points with Auburn moving closer to the Ducks with six first-place votes and 1397 total points. Boise State moved ahead of TCU into the third spot with 1329 points while the Horned Frogs come in just 11 points behind.

The Harris Poll is where Auburn made its biggest move as the Tigers got 35 first-place votes and 2733 points to distance themselves from Boise State (2591) and TCU (2583) respectively. Oregon remains in first place in the Harris Poll but with 2788 points they are just 55 points in front of Auburn.
