"I really feel like our offense and defense have complemented each other each game," Malzahn said. "Our defense found a way. They won the game for us. Make no mistake on that deal. I am very proud of those guys. It was a complete team effort.
Malzahn said Auburn's comeback from 24 points down is something that won't soon be forgotten. "Especially in this environment against this opponent in a rivalry game," the coach said. "It was really special. I think we will remember this one for a long time to come."

Nick Fairley tied the school record for tackles for lost yardage tackles in a season with 20. His two sacks vs. Alabama increased his total to 9 1/2 for the season.

*With 24 touchdown passes, Cameron Newton broke the school record of 22 set last season by Chris Todd.
*Newton added to his school record for points scored in one season with 114.
*With 255 yards of total offense, Newton has 3,590 for the season, which adds to his single-season school record.
*The Tigers now have 499 points, which is the most in an Auburn single season.
*The Tigers set a single season record for rushing yards in the Bama game with 3,495. The old record was 3,438 in 1985.
*Auburn had scored in 21 consecutive quarters prior to the first quarter today.
*Philip Lutzenkirchen has caught a dozen passes this season. Five have gone for touchdowns.
