Super 6: T.J. Yeldon
"I got a little banged up in the first half," said T.J. Yeldon. "I got a dead leg on the last run, so it's hurting a little bit. I just had to keep pushing though. I had to fight through it.
"This means a bunch to me. I told the seniors that this was our last time playing together, and we were going to go out on top. We have all been playing together since I was little."
The Alabama high school state championships were played at Jordan-Hare Stadium last week with the AHSAA rotating each year between Auburn and Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
"It felt great to play here," Yeldon said. "Auburn is recruiting me really hard. I like them a lot. It was just amazing to play here."
Yeldon has earned several other scholarship offers, but too early in the process to name a leader.
"Right now I have offers from Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Arkansas and Illinois," he said. "I don't have any favorites right now. I am keeping my options open."
Yeldon moves on to the hardwood this winter, but talked of a few things to improve before his senior season.
"I have got to get bigger and faster," he said. "I am going to work real hard in the weight room this off-season."
