One of the key positions that it appears that the Tennessee Coaching staff is still searching for help at is that of running back for its 2011 recruiting class.
One back that could help the Vols recruiting efforts finish off with a bang is Scout.com's four star running back Jeremy Hill of Louisiana. Hill, a long time commitment of LSU, recently decided to open up his recruitment.
"I have decommitted from LSU," Hill told InsideTennessee.com Tuesday night. "I'm still considering LSU, but I wanted to re open up my recruitment and my family and I thought the best way to do that is to decommitment from my pledge to LSU."
A school that apparently has gotten Hill's attention is the Tennessee Volunteers. He confirmed that he will definitely take an official visit to the Knoxville campus.
"One school that I know for sure I will take an official visit to is Tennessee," Hill stated. "I'm not sure who my other visits will be with at this point."
According to Chad Simmons of Scout.com Hill makes for a lack of wide open speed with other skill sets.
"Hill is a big back that runs with a lot of power, he catches the ball well, and he will be the next physical back. Speed is not a strength of Hill's, but having quick feet is. He takes short steps, he makes quick cuts, and he is able to side-step defenders when running through the second level. He is not going to be a burner but he is quick enough to get a number of long runs after bursting through the line."
It appears that Hill has built a great relationship with Tennessee's recruiting coordinator Terry Joseph.
"Coach Joseph never gave up recruiting me even though I committed to LSU," Hill said. "He is a great coach and a guy that is really easy to talk to and to respect."
While Hill hasn't set a date for the official visit to Rocky Top, he stated he hopes to have one taken in the next month or so.
While Hill has never seen Knoxville, he has been told by several that the Vols have some of the best facilities in the SEC. "
Coach Joseph told me everywhere he has coached and said that UT has definitely got great facilities and are building new ones as we speak."
