4-Star Lineman To Visit Auburn

A big junior college lineman is scheduled to check out Gene Chizik's Tigers. A report with video of the prospect is featured.

Wahpeton, N.D.--A Scout.com four-star offensive lineman is expected to take an official visit to Auburn this weekend.

Jacob Fahrenkrug, a 6-4, 320-pound juco sophomore at North Dakota State College of Science, took his first official visit to the Arkansas last month.

The Minnesota native is scheduled to graduate in December with three years to play two seasons. A prospect with more than a dozen scholarship offers, he is also considering Florida State and Arizona in addition to Auburn and Arkansas.

Auburn must replace both of its starters at guard, seniors Mike Berry and Byron Isom, for the 2011 season.

Jacob Fahrenkrug played guard for his junior college team.

Scott Kennedy, Scout's director of scouting, projects the lineman as a guard. "An interior line prospect, Fahrenkrug is a very good athlete for a big man," Kennedy said.

"He has no trouble exploding out of his stance and getting on the linebackers or making a pull block. He is a compact guard that sinks his hips well and plays with good leverage to keep from getting pushed back by bigger defensive linemen. Fights with his hands well and doesn't need a help from a double team in pass pro."
