"I have made my decision and I am going to sign with Auburn University," Robinson told Inside the Auburn Tigers. "I am very excited about my choice."
Rated a four-star prospect by Scout.com, Robinson chose the Auburn over LSU and many other colleges. He is projected to be an offensive tackle at Auburn.
"I took official visits to Auburn and LSU and I like both schools, but Auburn is my favorite and that is where I want to spend my college years," he said. "I like the players there and the relationship they have with the coaches.
"I had some family members who wanted me to go to LSU, but this is my decision and it is the first big decision I need to make for my life as a man," he added. "I really feel good about my decision to attend Auburn because I believe it is such a good fit for me. It is where I want to be."
A frequent visitor to the Auburn campus this year, he is a close friend of Auburn freshman football player Trovon Reed, who was injured in preseason and is redshirting for the Tigers. Robinson and Reed were high school teammates.
Robinson said he has a high comfort level with Auburn not only because his friend Reed is on the team. "I feel like I've built my relationships on my visits with Coach Grimes (offensive line coach Jeff Grimes) and Coach Trooper (wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor) and Coach (Gene) Chizik also," he said.
"It's just that the coaches are real down to earth," he added. "Coach Grimes is like a father figure to me and I know his linemen really enjoy playing for him. Coach Trooper is a great guy and he is like a father figure, too. I feel like Auburn is a place where I can enjoy play football and really focus on my education and develop as a person."
With Auburn featuring four senior starters on hits 13-0 SEC Championship team, offensive linemen are a high priority in this recruiting class for Coach Gene Chizik's Tigers.
"I am looking forward to getting to Auburn and being a part of the team," Robinson said.
