A group of seniors explained why they were confident after they finished a perfect season with a 14-0 record.
Wide receiver Terrell Zachery said, "We just kept fighting after getting off to a slow start and started playing better. It was a bit of a crazy game, but we knew we were going to win. I wasn't nervous at all at the end. When Wes (Wes Byrum) walked out there I knew we were going to win because he is one of the best kickers in college football."
Senior offensive tackle Byron Isom agreed with Zachery that he was confident the Tigers would find a way to pull out their ninth comeback win of the season. "We had been in this situation before and knew we were going to pull out a win.
"It is a great feeling to go out like this in the last game for our senior class and it is a great feeling to win this game to the Auburn Family," Isom added. "It is so exciting that it is hard to put into words."
Another senior, running back Mario Fannin, said, "It is big, big, it's unbelievable. I am just trying to take in all in and enjoy it."
Senior Kodi Burns, who caught a touchdown pass, said, "We weren't nervous at all. This team is ice. We knew Wes is ice and our defense had big plays in them. A lot of hard work went into making this happen. This is great for the seniors. I know getting a chance to catch a touchdown tonight is something I will remember my whole life."
