A six-foot-six sophomore, he picked the Tigers over Creighz ton, Ball State and Arizona State after averaging 16 points and eight rebounds per game. He took official visits to Creighton and Ball State before visiting Auburn.
"I am looking for an opportunity to come in and play immediately," Brown says. "I like Auburn's style of play. I watched them get to the Sweet 16 when they got beat. They really shouldn't have gotten beat by Syracuse in that game. They played really well."
Brown, who is from Chicago, was an All-City player and a third team All-State pick in 2001 as a high school senior at Morgan Park High. He averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior and led his team to the Chicago city title as well as a state championship.
He considers himself a versatile player. "I think that I am good at finding the open man," he says. "I think I play well in the transition game. I like to press. I am used to that because that is what we did in high school. I really like the up-tempo style of play."
The Tigers are also signing another junior college player out of the Midwest. Ian Young, a combo guard at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone, Iowa, will play for the Tigers next season.
