Hoops Prospect Not Ready to Make His Choice

An Auburn basketball recruiting report features a report on a prep school big man.

Deerfield, Wisc.--After making an official visit to Auburn last month, basketball prospect Brandon Mobley said he was in no major rush to make a decision on his college choice for the spring signing period that starts on April 13th.

The six-foot-nine, 215-pound prep school forward at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy said he still isn't sure exactly when he will make his college choice, but noted that Auburn is in the mix.

"I still like Auburn," he said. "Coach (Tony) Barbee came up to my school last night." Barbee is the first-year head coach of the Tigers.

Mobley is also considering Seton Hall, where he took his most recent official visit, as well as DePaul and Providence where he said he has also visited. He may also take a recruiting trip to Southern Cal.

"The Seton Hall visit went great," he said. "I liked the campus and the town. I might take some more visits, but I haven't decided on that yet. It depends on whether or not I am ready to make a decision."

Asked what will be the major factor in his choice, he said, "I am looking for a place where I feel that I will be comfortable for the next four years."

Mobley's hometown is Savannah, Ga., where he was a standout performer at Windsor Forest High School.
