In-State Prospect Discusses Visit To Auburn

Prattville athlete De'Ante Lawrence talks about his recent visit to Auburn.

Prattville, Ala.--On a football team loaded with potential prospects for both the 2012 and 2013 classes, one of the players to watch for the Prattville Lions this fall is running back/athlete DeAnte Lawrence.

At 6-0, 195 with good speed and the quickness to play a number of different positions on the next level, Lawrence is already hearing from a number of schools across the Southeast.

One of those is the Auburn Tigers. Making a visit on Wednesday along with teammates Justin Shanks and Austin Golson, Lawrence said he liked everything about his visit to the Plains.

"Everything is nice there," Lawrence said. "I like the atmosphere and the coaching staff.

"I like they way they organize their practices and how they have things set up," he added. "I also like the way the coaches meet and talk about things."

At the moment he's still waiting on an offer from the Tigers and the same goes for Alabama, but he said several schools have already come on board.

I'm hearing from Memphis, Arkansas State, Southern Miss, UAB, South Alabama and Alabama in addition to Auburn," Lawrence said. "I have offers from everyone of those except for Auburn and Alabama."

Saying he's looking for a place he can play early, Lawrence said he's planning on going back to Auburn possibly for another unofficial visit this spring as well as a camp in the summer.
