Mobley Makes His College Choice

A basketball recruiting report is featured on prep school player Brandon Mobley.

Deerfield, Wisc.--Brandon Mobley said it was a "tough decision" picking a college on Wednesday when he decided to sign to play college basketball with the Seton Hall Pirates.

"My choice wasn't an easy one," he said. "I seriously considered Auburn and DePaul, too."

Asked what his decision came down to, he said, "There is an opportunity for immediate playing time at Seton Hall. That, combined with the fact that I really like the coaching staff, is why I made the decision."

The six-foot-nine, 215-pound prep school forward at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy is originally from Savannah, Ga., where he played at Windsor Forest High School.

He had previously said that one of the reasons he liked Auburn because it was within driving distance so his family could watch him play games. "I talked it over with them and they said it was my decision and go where I thought the best place was for me," he said.

The spring signing period began on Wednesday. The Tigers are still in the hunt for the state of Alabama's top basketball prospect, Trevor Lacey, a guard from Butler High in Huntsville.
