Ft. Mitchell, Ky.--Auburn is hoping to land a bluechip quarterback prospect for its 2012 signee class on Wednesday as Zeke Pike prepares to announce his college choice during a press conference at Dixie Heights High School.

The 6-6, 225-pound junior is ranked as a five-star prospect by and has more than 50 scholarship offers from colleges across the country. Inside the Auburn Tigers/ will have coverage of the quarterback's announcement, which is expected to be made shortly after 1:30 p.m. CDT.

Auburn, where he visited this past weekend for the Tigers' annual spring football game, is one of his finalists along with Michigan, Florida, Alabama, Southern Cal, Iowa, Purdue, Clemson and Georgia.

Pike passed for 2,144 yards and 17 touchdowns last fall and rushed for 947 yards and 17 more touchdowns to earn a ranking as the No. 3 quarterback prospect in the country.

The son of former NFL and Georgia Tech star Mark Pike, the quarterback was a standout performer at an Auburn football camp last July.

Pike was on campus last spring to check out an Auburn practice and he attended Auburn's 2011 victories over Georgia at Jordan-Hare Stadium and over Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
